Outdoor Education
Educational Visits Advice and Guidance (EVA) team.
Our Educational Visits Advice and Guidance team is the “go-to” service for advice and guidance regarding all aspects of educational visits and learning outside the classroom.
Our advisers are highly experienced, qualified teachers and outdoor learning practitioners with vast experience managing outdoor centres and delivering learning activities outside the classroom to students of all age ranges and are members of the Outdoor Education Advisers Panel, a national body, recommended by DfE that provides guidance and best practices for all aspects of learning outside the classroom.
How we support schools
Evolve - an online system for recording all educational visits their establishment may undertake. This allows schools to record all aspects of the visit, including staffing and students attending, venues, itineraries, and associated risk assessments and supervision plans, to ensure the smooth and safe delivery of the visit.
Training and development of school staff -the DfE advises that all schools have an OEAP-trained Educational Visits Coordinator (EVC). We deliver the OEAP’s EVC training, which covers all aspects of Educational Visits, including the Benefits of Outdoor Learning, Health and Safety, legal requirements, and how to choose a suitable provider and successfully plan and deliver educational visits.
Visit Leader Training – we help teachers gain the knowledge they require through the delivery of the OEAP Visits Leader Training Course. The courses are delivered via a theory presentation, discussion and by practical exercise in and around the local area, focusing on visit leadership and group management
On-going training – INSET days, videos and CPD webinars – we have produced a series of “how to” videos to help Evolve users, we also offer free CPD Webinar to schools
