PLAYBOOK - End User Compute
End User Compute
Ensuring end users have the
right devices and tools
Ensuring end users have the right devices and tools is a key part of improving workplace efficiency and productivity. It also fosters better communication, collaboration and co-creation, and can support an organisation’s aspirations to succeed and grow.
The way we work is changing and technology needs to support business transformation by giving end users the flexibility to do what they need on the device of their choice.
Employee expectations are changing too. They look for the freedom to work remotely to improve their work/life balance, they expect to use their chosen devices easily and with fast, self-service set up, and they demand more choice and a more digital and consumer-like experience.
Our End User Compute (EUC) services are designed to help organisations do all this and more.
Discovery and Analysis Service
Most organisations would like to improve the quality, reliability and performance of their End User Compute service.
With a clearer view of the status, resource, consumption and health of their EUC estate, they can make better-informed decisions and plans, and derive more accurate cost justifications.
But a lack of detailed information about that estate makes it difficult to shape and prioritise improvements.
Our Discovery and Analysis service has been created to make this process easier for decision makers, service owners, project managers and IT operations teams responsible for service delivery and service quality.

Our Discovery and Analysis service
What the service offers
Based on Lakeside Systrack tools it can support businesses – especially those considering significant changes or upgrades – by:
- Giving a clearer picture of the current EUC estate.
- Defining the scope and success criteria of transformation projects.
- Assisting with application rationalisation by identifying unused or duplicated applications.
- Targeting the devices most in need of attention, upgrade or refresh.
- Identifying suitable profiles or groups of users across the organisation.
- Establishing current performance status and benchmarks for service performance.
- Diagnosing and resolving user, software and device issues.
What the service delivers
Data is continuously collected, down to individual devices and users. The reporting tools in our Analytics service interrogate it to reveal what’s really in your EUC estate, what’s happening to it and why.
Capita’s Discovery Service supplies all the (Lakeside) licensing and services necessary to undertake the deployment and analysis.
You’ll receive a full analysis of your EUC estate in a structured report listing the main findings, a high-level user report, plus key metrics including user experience benchmarks, resource usage and pain points.
Moving to Windows 10
Windows 10 brings a new applications platform plus new security features, methods of integration and management tools. It offers better mobility, increased performance (and therefore productivity) and an improved experience.
The move to Microsoft Windows as a Service also brings the benefit of frequent feature releases while bidding farewell to major version upgrades. Capita IT and Networks is a Gold Partner and part of Microsoft’s early adoption programme.
We work closely with Microsoft to understand new developments and bring the maximum benefits to our customers. We have significant experience in deploying and managing Windows 10 across a wide range of sectors.
We are able to support our customers throughout their Windows 10 journey from initial discovery through to deployment, testing and supporting a managed service, including Mac integration where required.
Traditionally End User Computing has been device focused. Our flagship Workspace Agility solution replaces this with a pay-as-you-go cloud-based service that gives users access to all the applications and data they need, from any device, at any time and from any location.
It is a highly secure solution, incorporating two-factor security authentication. Furthermore, it includes the convenience of automation and self-service via an AI-driven portal, meaning new users can easily set themselves up in minutes, and enjoy IT support at their fingertips.
Workspace Agility comes as a core service, but there is also a range of optional additional services with extra functionality.
