FAO: head teachers, business managers, HR managers, senior leaders, governors and trustees
Entrust is once again this year offering free training and guidance to senior staff and governors to help schools and academies ensure that they manage resources effectively, maximising efficiency and, where relevant, ensuring compliance.
On behalf of the Department for Education (DfE), Entrust will be delivering a series of 10 webinars covering a range of school business management and planning functions, all of which are fully government funded.
The expanded and updated 2022-23 webinar series contains new, up-to-date guidance and information. The first webinars were in November, with a rolling programme of delivery carrying on until March 2023 – ensuring ample opportunity for all schools to access the courses.
Michelle Williams, Head of Service, Education Finance and Payroll, at Entrust, said: “I am extremely pleased to be supporting the DfE in the development and delivery of the school resource management webinars for the third year running. It is especially critical in this current financial climate to ensure your resources and school strategies are aligned for the future of our children.”
The series of webinars include:
How to integrate curriculum and financial planning: Integrated Curriculum and Financial Planning (ICFP) has become a key tool in ensuring an enriched curriculum that is financially sustainable. This webinar will enable you to understand and use the available ICFP tools in an effective manner.
Benchmarking financial metrics: This webinar will enable you to interpret and evaluate benchmarking information to manage resources more effectively. Separate bespoke sessions will be offered for primary and secondary schools and SEN and alternative provision settings.
Securing best value from your procurement: This webinar will help to develop your understanding of compliance within procurement law and financial regulations. We will provide the guidance and tools to support you to procure your goods and services effectively.
Strategic estate management: Delegates will learn the benefits of good strategic estate management as our experts provide practicable examples, which ultimately will help you drive financial savings and improve sites and buildings compliance and sustainability.
HR planning: In this webinar you will get an overview of how to manage change within your school with specific reference to workforce planning and managing restructures. We will discuss the impact that change can have on your workforce and suggest how you can support your staff through change.
Budgeting and annual cycles: Bespoke webinars for either school business professionals or the senior leadership team (SLT) and governors will increase understanding of the key budgeting methods used throughout the education sector and how to scrutinise and challenge financial decisions, where necessary.
Strategic Financial Planning: This webinar will enhance your understanding of the fundamental principles and processes involved in strategic financial planning, enabling you to focus on key strategic priorities and to identify best practice within your school.
This series is aimed at school business professionals, headteachers, the senior leadership team, curriculum leads, governors and trustees, estates staff and HR staff at both maintained schools and academies, trusts and local authorities.
Delegates can register for as many or as few webinars as they choose but joining all will give attendees a full understanding of school resource management and how to successfully implement it in their school.
