We are delighted to present our free online safety event that brings together a range of expert speakers in the field of online safety to inform and challenge perceptions of risks online that young people and schools may face, backed up by current research and resources.
How will this event help you in your school?
This event is a must-attend for anyone who wants to stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in online safety. You will have the opportunity to learn from experts in the field and gain valuable insights into online safety.
It's an excellent opportunity to learn about the experiences of vulnerable and disadvantaged children in the online world and what the latest research says about supporting these cohorts. You will also gain an awareness of the online benefits and risks of AI, and how filtering and monitoring systems are used to meet your statutory requirements under Keeping Children Safe in Education.
In addition, you will hear from a school that has successfully achieved the 360 Degree Safe Online Safety Award for the third time! They will be sharing examples of their best practices.
Our keynote speakers include:
Simone Vibert from Internet Matters will be providing a focus on the experiences of vulnerable and disadvantaged children online, including children with SEND and families receiving free school meals. It will explore the latest research and signpost to relevant resources.
Andy Pyper from Capita Entrust will host a session on statutory requirements for filtering and monitoring and will discuss the limitations and advantages of systems and processes that can be put in place.
Ken Corish from South West Grid for Learning will discuss AI: the challenges and opportunities for educators.
Steve Neale from The Friary School will explain some of the exciting and innovative ways he has delivered online safety in action involving the whole school and practical mock-up scenarios in disguise. One not to be missed!
Natalie Foos and Anna Lindsay from VoiceBox Young People's Relationships with AI Chatbots: Personified AI Chatbots such as 'Replika' and Snapchat's 'My AI' are on the rise and are becoming more popular with young people. They offer support, romance and friendship. But how safe are they, and what is the lived experience?
