Pilot schools sought for project to improve parental engagement
Parental engagement is widely recognised to have a positive impact on students’ behaviour and attainment. Indeed Education Endowment Foundation research shows it can add up to 4 months’ additional progress. But how can schools increase parental engagement in a time and cost-effective manner that works equally well for schools, students and parents?
Swotly is an EdTech platform designed to improve parents’ engagement with their children’s learning using voice technology. Swotly gives parents access to the wealth of information that schools already hold including timetables, curricula and behaviour reports.
Using voice technology in smartphones, smart speakers, and wearable devices parents are able to ask, for example, ‘What lessons does Arif have today?’, ‘Does Arif have any coursework?’, and ‘Does Arif need his guitar tomorrow?’. They can also ask about lesson content to help them engage with their children in more depth: ‘What did Arif study in geography today?’
"The great news for schools is that Swotly is a tool that fits into parents’ busy lives without adding extra work for teachers, technical or administrative staff."
Swotly allows you to make the data you already hold accessible to parents on demand. Swotly integrates with all the main management information systems and learning management systems, including:
Often, new tools can add work for already busy staff. But, because Swotly works with your existing data, extra work is kept to an absolute minimum.
What’s more, integration is simple and secure: Swotly is GDPR compliant and is registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office; privacy is safeguarded by guardian-only access with voice recognition and PIN confirmation; data is protected through encryption and multi-factor authentication.
Swotly is looking for new schools to join its existing pilot scheme. If your school is interested in trialling this new way of engaging with parents, or would simply like to hear more about it, we would love to hear from you.
