The hub hosted an aspiration day for local schools involving around 120 students and 8 teachers. The day involved STEM themed workshops students could access via the STEM learning programme to raise aspirations in STEM. Students had the opportunity to meet STEM ambassadors from various different industry sectors and also complete the stereotyping challenge workshop led by the hub. We had a total of 10 workshops and 3 stem challenges for all to get involved in around Lego/coding linked to engineering with finning, strawberry DNA extraction alongside fingerprint workshops with NSCG rocket launching with the RAF dentistry workshops with the NHS, Submarine making and chemistry workshop with Stoke On Trent Sixth Form plus the anti-smoking workshop with Entrust.
Thank you to Doxey primary School, Parkside primary School, St Leonards primary school, Walton Priory middle school, Penkridge Middle school, Walton Priory Middle School & Blessed William Howard Catholic school for allowing students to experience a STEM related day at the hub.
