Our offer includes:
Flint and Fire - Stone Age; day visit or residential linked to the national curriculum.
Flint and Fire Saxons and Vikings; day visit or residential linked to the national curriculum.
Explore and Inspire Residential; three or five day residential.
How our residential courses help:
Enjoyment - Trips out of schools are often the best part of being in school, and for teachers and pupils alike, the opportunity to go somewhere else and share in some enjoyment is a wonderful thing.
Building confidence - Confidence took a real hit for many during the pandemic. Reversing that to allow young people to build their confidence back up and enable them to take on future challenges and achieve success is key.
Improved health and wellbeing - Spending just two hours outside in nature significantly boosts your health and wellbeing. In fact, many studies show that regular ‘green time’ reduces stress, anxiety, and depression.
Increased motivation and appetite for learning - The increased motivation we often see when young people are in the outdoors, can lead to an improved appetite for self-directed learning, notably back in school where you’ll see raised levels of attainment in other aspects of their development.
Broadening horizons - Exploration and inspiration are key themes in what we do in our activities, encouraging young people to go off and explore the world, encouraging them to embrace a wider range of employment opportunities and life chances.
Developing personal skills - Through our activities , which are often problem-based with a tangible outcome, we’re getting young people working together, where key skills such as communication, creativity, critical thinking, co-operation, initiative, and innovation are developed.
