Trust Capacity Fund
Trusts will be able to apply for the next round of funding between 1 November 2023 and 1 February 2024.
The trust capacity fund (TCaF) supports the growth of multi-academy trusts (MATs). It is for trusts which have had a growth project approved by a regional director.
The DfE encourage applications for funding which:
Relate to education investment areas
Involve taking on groups of schools
Involve taking on underperforming schools.
It is available to academy trusts and local authority-maintained schools forming a MAT.
Examples of activities for which you can seek TCaF funding include:
Establishing new central processes such as IT, finance and HR
Training and continuing professional development for staff
New staffing posts within the central trust team
New staffing posts, including increases in contracted hours, salary uplift or backfill costs relating to trust wide school improvement
Reasonable relocation costs for moving staff to new regions
Specialist advice – such as IT, finance or HR advice – to build permanent capacity for growth
