Our food service strategy is designed to provide child-friendly menus for each school that are compliant with legislation, flexible and offer choice to the end of service. Many years ago, Edwards and Ward took the decision that every menu they provided would meet a minimum of Bronze Food for Life requirements. This decision has shaped how they approach their ingredient sourcing and means they offer all their schools’ industry leading levels of locally and sustainability sourced quality food. At the root of all that they do is their love for satisfying their customers with great tasting, healthy food.The friendly and knowledgeable operations team love getting to know their clients and customers and providing fresh, tasty and safe food for them. They are supported by a food development team which includes a registered nutritionist, allergen and special diets experts and a company chef with an infectious drive for innovation and improving food standards. The team follow all relevant and up to date guidelines regarding healthy foods and nutrition, as well as working closely with a registered in-house nutritionist on every aspect of menu planning. Placing huge emphasis on menu choice for schools Edwards & Ward have a unique approach to special diets which embraces not only the key allergens but just as importantly another 80 or so defined intolerances. This helps maximise uptake and ensure that every child is given the opportunity to eat a fresh and nutritious meal every school day.
