Capita view
We asked Ismail Amla, Capita’s Chief Growth Officer, and Serge Taborin, Chief Digital Officer, to share their views on the characteristics they believe tomorrow’s organisations will need to adopt for the future.
Embracing a growth mindset and an appetite for risk taking was seen as critical – especially as companies undergo a period of rapid economic and societal change. Alongside that, grasping and maximising innovation; and ensuring everyone throughout the organisation has the opportunity to continually learn, unlearn and relearn were seen as pivotal to growth.
What do our clients say?
We asked senior clients the same question, in relation to their organisations:
"what are the qualities that you believe are core to making sure your organisation is fit for the world of tomorrow?"
Resoundingly, clients shared the belief that having a culture of authenticity and trust was crucial to their future. For organisations big and small, across multiple different sectors, prosperity relies on having a clear purpose with common goals and objectives.
And clients echoed the belief that education and development must be embedded into the organisations of tomorrow. With business models and operating environments undergoing a period of constant change, there is a need for continual adaption and learning.
Attendees told us they place high value on the prominence of learning: from embracing efficient ways of working and flexible structures, to having a culture of learning, creativity and curiosity.
According to the World Economic Forum’s latest Global Risks Report, although the risks facing businesses are intensifying, the will to tackle them is lacking. This is a rallying cry to build a culture of experimentation and a willingness to confront risk – one that fundamentally drives change, and growth.

What can you do?
In preparing for tomorrow, we need to challenge the status quo. Adopt a curious mindset and turn the traditional hierarchical management style on its head.
Embrace passion and emotion – and encourage teams to do the same. Champion empathy, curiosity and flexibility throughout the organisation.
