As we have seen throughout both the series of TED talks and in client’s’ views, data will inevitably transform the way in which businesses operate, both in the short and the long term.
Technology, automation and AI will change the ways we live and work almost beyond recognition. But that technology needs to be brought together with purpose and expert human minds, in ways that augment people to make better decisions – not removing them entirely.
What did our clients say?
Our final question to attendees at the event was to ask them to tell us in their own words what “striving for better” meant both to them as individuals and within their organisations.
There were a number of common themes and consistent beliefs that shone through from respondents across organisations and sectors.
On both an individual and organisational level, the idea of collaboration is pivotal to achieving better. At work, that means bringing together different teams, enabling more efficient processes and streamlining ways of working. It also means involving wider groups and teams of people, from stakeholders to clients and employees, to work together. Better outcomes are inevitably reached when individuals are put first – and allowed to grasp that individualism – while working together towards mutual goals.
But, perhaps most promising, was the inherent feeling of change. A need for constant, continued transformation, enabling businesses to keep improving and for individuals to keep progressing. Ultimately, striving for better, according to our clients, translates into a drive to never give up.
What can you do?
In the continual strive for better, questioning yourself and your assumptions will be more important than ever. Foster curiosity. Question yourself. And never stop learning.
